WHO WE ARE
Staig & Smith Ltd is a long-established Surveying Consultancy with its origins dating back to 1940. Times have changed considerably and we have changed with them.
Expansion of services to meet the varied requirements and demands of our clients has seen Staig & Smith Ltd develop into a multi-discipline company. The company is based in Nelson, but serves private, corporate, government and local authority clients throughout the lower North Island, the West Coast and top of the South Island.
Staig & Smith Ltd employs professional planners, surveyors along with engineering staff and support from a team of experienced staff and modern systems and technology.
We offer a broad base of services to assist clients in bringing their projects to fruition within the framework of the Resource Management Act and Local Authority planning regulations.
WHAT WE DO
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Our experience in Resource Management covers subdivison and landuse planning, tourist developments, integrated settlements planning, quarrying and forestry, landfill sites, rural industry, coastal permits and port development, marine farming, subdivision and roading. We take this experience all over New Zealand.
SURVEYING
With a mobile team of professionals, our surveying services are available outside the Nelson region. The array of locations our survey team has worked in has culminated in a vast amount of experience. We strive to find the most economic methods of operation and like to think outside the conventional square to make this happen.
LAND DEVELOPMENT
Staig & Smith Ltd offers an integrated surveying and engineering service to the Land Development Industry. We have experience in a wide range of land developments including complex servicing requirements and those within sensitive, geographical or geological areas. From Nelson, the Land Development Division travels throughout New Zealand, wherever our knowledge and experience is needed!
SUBDIVISION
Land subdivision is our core activity. The key to a successful subdivision is the coordination of the many facets of each project. We will manage relationships with professional contributors to the project and communicate progress with you at each step along the way.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Staig & Smith are fortunate to have over-arching expertise in all areas of land development, and as a logical extension of our core business, offer professional project management services. With broad in-depth understanding and experience, we are able to ensure that all facets of the project, no matter how small or large, are co-ordinated with efficiency and resourcefulness while keeping communication lines open at all stages.
